Sproles is Special Teams Player of the Week

The 65-yard punt return cinched another simple honor for the littlest, but most explosive, Eagle.

For Week 10, the NFL recognized Darren Sproles as its Special Teams Player of the Week. The 65-yard punt return for a touchdown against the Panthers put the Eagles up 17-7 in the first quarter, and the game would not be as close going forward.

The acknowledgement is Sproles' third of the season; the running back won Offensive Player of the Week in Week 2, after his dashing and gritty efforts against the Colts. Despite losing to the 49ers in Week 4, Sproles' long punt return for a touchdown netted him Special Teams Player of the Week honors there as well.

Sproles becomes the second player in NFL history to win two Special Teams and one Offensive Player of the Week awards in the same season; the first was DeSean Jackson in 2009.

Can you believe the Saints only wanted a fifth-round pick for him?
