What They're Saying After Big Win in Big D

From redemption for Mark Sanchez and praise of the offensive line to criticism for the Eagles' red zone offense and Pitbull being part of a nightmare for Dallas fans, Delaware Valley columnists put pen to paper and fingers to keyboards in a special holiday weekend edition of "What They're Saying".

It was nothing short of a Thanksgiving Day massacre at Jerryworld in Arlington, Texas Thursday. The Eagles beat the Cowboys by a final of 33-10 to take over first place in the NFC East and remain undefeated in division play. Naturally, area sportswriters have plenty to write about this holiday weekend, so here now is a cornucopia of columns that we like to call "What They're Saying".

We start with an article from Paul Domowitch from the Philadelphia Daily News that compares Mark Sanchez's performance Thursday to his Thanksgiving performance with the Jets from two years ago. Domowitch praises Sanchez saying that he's gone "from the Thanksgiving Butt Fumble to Thanksgiving hero."

Bob Ford from the Philadelphia Inquirer Fellow Inquirer writer Jeff McLane offers 10 takeways from the Thanksgiving Massacre and shows some love to Fletcher Cox. McLane believes that Cox "was arguably the best player on the field" and went on to say "Thursday he may gotten the national attention he justly deserves".

NJ Advance Media's Mark Eckel opines that the Eagles victory over Dallas may not be exactly the statement win fans and experts believe it to be. While Eckel admits this kind of road win is impressive he questions the quality of their opponent saying "you have to wonder just how good the Cowboys are."

Fellow NJ Advance Media contributor Eliot Shorr-Parks reveals the 800 pound elephant in the room, the Eagles' red zone offense. Shorr-Parks matter of factly writes "if they want to be the best, and beat the best, the Eagles are going to have to find a way to punch in the ball when they get a chance."

Finally, CSNPhilly.com columnist John Gonzalez looks back on the Eagles' victory as a sign that they could become dangerous. Gonzalez humorously (and accurately) quips that for Dallas Thursday was "a nightmare that involved a Pitbull interlude, which is not the kind of nightmare you’d wish on anyone — even the Cowboys and their fans."
