VIDEO: Chip's Thursday Chat With the Media

Chip Kelly explains why he picked up Mark Sanchez, addresses having not been contacted by Florida and talks about Seattle in his Thursday press conference.

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly took to the podium at the NovaCare Complex Thursday morning to speak with the media one last time before Sunday's game against the Seahawks across the street at Lincoln Financial Field.

In his remarks, Kelly offered insight on the process of acquiring quarterback Mark Sanchez in the offseason. Kelly didn't even look at his NFL work saying, "I didn't watch him his last 2 years in New York. I talked to his college coaches...I talked to his high school coaches. I personally didn't study his tape because I know what he can do and I thought he could fit into our system."

Kelly also once again addressed the rumors of the University of Florida contacting him. "I haven't been contacted by any colleges," Kelly stated. And if he were to receive a phone call from an college institution, Kelly told the media how he would respond, "I would politely tell them, 'I'm the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles...I'm excited to be here and we've got a big game against Seattle.'"

Kelly also took time out to update the status of kicker Cody Parkey, address the issue of potentially having to win a low scoring game Sunday and praise the play of Seattle's Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman.
