VIDEO: Chip's Wednesday Chat

Chip Kelly lays out the plans for his defense without Trent Cole and looks ahead to Washington in his Wednesday press conference.

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly addressed the media assembled at the NovaCare Complex Wednesday morning as his team continues to prepare for their intradivision game against Washington Saturday.

His team is preparing to play without the services of LB Trent Cole who will be out for Saturday's game with a fracture in his left hand. Cole is electing to have surgery which, in all likelihood, will keep him from playing against New York next weekend and in any postseason games the Eagles may play.

In his mid-week press conference, Kelly addressed one of the ways he intend on working around the loss of Cole. "Right now we're down a linebacker...(Marcus Smith) is going to play both (inside and outside)," Kelly told the media."

Other topics discussed by Kelly include the latest on Nick Foles (who is still not officially cleared to practice), the talent that Washington has in Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris and how worrying about how his team can get to the playoffs does little to no good at this stage.
