Andy Reid Press Conference: 9-21-05

Injuries: "[WR Terrell Owens] T.O. will not practice today with that groin abdominal stretch. [QB] Donovan [McNabb] has a sore groin and he will not be able to practice today. [K] David Akers is limited with what he can do today. He is going to try to kick field goals, but will not do any kickoffs."

Opening remarks:

"We look forward to the challenge of playing the Raiders. We know what kind of football team they are. They are an explosive offensive football team and a very fast and aggressive defensive team. We understand what is coming in here and we understand it is going to be a big challenge and our players and coaches will be ready for that."

On when McNabb hurt his groin:

"He actually got hurt during the game, just before halftime. It tightened up on him yesterday and he felt a little sore during the game, but it really knotted up on him yesterday. We tried to get it out of there, but we were not as successful as we wanted to be. We will let him rest today and see what he can do tomorrow."

On how RG Shawn Andrews' shoulder is feeling:

"Yeah, Shawn's okay."

On whether he would like to have RB Ryan Moats play at some point during the regular season:

"Yeah, we are just going to continue to bring him along. It is a bit of a numbers game, because [RB] Reno [Mahe] is the backup punt returner and Reno knows all the pass routes where [RB] Brian [Westbrook] is flexed out of the backfield. Right now Reno is the best at that, so that's what it comes down to. It's nothing negative about Ryan; he is going to be a good football player in this league. It's just a matter of getting him comfortable with everything."

On Brian Westbrook's negative yardage plays this season:

"There are a couple of reasons for them. On a couple of them they have overloaded that side. The one in Atlanta that was the case. It got us into a little trouble there. There have been some guys that have come free and we need to block better. We will do that and get it all straightened out."
