14) Philadelphia: Chad Jackson/WR/Florida
Analysis: Head coach Andy Reid is enamored with the big, speedy wide out who he feels is a perfect fit for Philadelphia's offense.
Other possibilities: A trade up for one of the defensive tackles is a possibility.
Reid's fascination with Jackson is no big secret, but is he the right pick for the Eagles? "The Eagles badly need another solid young receiver to compliment second-year pro Reggie Brown after the experiment with Greg Lewis failed as a starter. Chad Jackson has rare speed for a player of his size and he fits the Eagles' West Coast system quite well," believes Adam Caplan, contributor to Scout.com and national reporter for Sirius NFL Radio and FootballInjuries.com.
So what about the part of a potential trade to draft a defensive tackle or could they even go in another direction? "The Eagles talked to USC OT Winston Justice on campus and they also brought him in for a visit so their interest in him is sincere. Justice could replace veteran LT Tra Thomas who broke down physically last season and Justice is capable of playing either tackle spot. The Eagles also have strong interest in both of the top defensive tackles (Haloti Ngata and Broderick Bunkley) so a trade up for one of them isn't out of the question," believes Caplan.
The TFY Mock Draft has Justice going to the Buffalo Bills at number eight, Ngata going to the St. Louis Rams at number eleven and Bunkley going to the Cleveland Browns at number twelve. As TFY sees it, Reggie Bush, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Matt Leinert, Mario Williams and A.J. Hawk will be the first five picks in the draft.
