Miami cornerback Kelly Jennings is an athletic cornerback who netted three interceptions as a senior and used his speed and agility to make plays on the ball against all opponents.
He admits his weaknesses but also warns against those who say he does not have the size to be effective in the NFL.
"I am not the most physical guy, but I use my feet to get me out of trouble," said Jennings.
With natural coverage abilities and instincts, Jennings found the pre-draft process a bit overwhelming at times, noting that it prepares prospects for the rigors of an NFL season, especially as a rookie.
"You are done with your last game of the season and then it all starts," Jennings said. "It is mental, physical and it comes so fast. It is overwhelming at times."
That did not dissuade him from posting a 4.45 forty time at the NFL Combines and a 40-inch vertical jump.
Practicing against some top talent at the University of Miami has helped him immensely as he sits on the doorstep of the NFL, and it is for that reason that he believes he can make an immediate impact at the NFL level.
We caught up with Jennings to discuss his weaknesses, strengths, playing man coverage and more.
Analysis: The Eagles won't be taking Kelly Jennings in the first round and it's likely that he'll be gone by the time the Eagles pick in Round Two. Still, the Eagles have scouted him, so we wanted our Premium members to know about him.
