Eagles Trade Up To Get Justice

The Eagles were primed to move up in the first round, but didn't. They waited to make a deal until round two when they worked a trade with Tennessee to move up to number 39 and get Winston Justice.

The Eagles were able to manuever themselves into position to get two of the players that they looked at as potential first round picks. Winston Justice came to the Eagles with the 39th pick of the draft, which they acquired from the Tennessee Titans.

Justice fell because of off-the-field problems, but the Eagles were willing to take a chance on him in the second round. To get Justice, the Eagles gave up the 45th pick in the draft and the second of their two fourth-round picks (number 116). The fourth-round pick actually came to the Eagles from the Dallas Cowboys.

"At the top of his game, he's a definite NFL starter," said Tony Pauline of TFY Draft Preview. "There were some character issues, but Justice is a good pick for the Eagles at number 39."
