The Philadelphia Eagles activated RB Correll Buckhalter from the Physically Unable to Perform list Monday in time for him to take part in full practices. Buckhalter had been placed on the PUP list on Thursday, July 20.
Andy Reid made Correll Buckhalter
somewhat of a personal project in the early days of camp. The Eagles coach was watching Buckhalter closely and even personally putting him through some of the drills to see just what the back could and could not do on the field. The results were good and when the Eagles gave Buckhalter a physical on Monday, he was deemed fit to practice. "I wanted to see him explode on that knee and change direction in the run game. I tried to give him some different looks where he had to do that," stressed Reid. "I came out of it feeling comfortable that he was ready to get back into uniform."
As for Buckhalter, the physical and Reid's assessment just gave him reassurance of what he already believed to be true. "I just felt myself planting on that leg and not even thinking about it, just reacting. The head man was out there with me so I had to do my best if I wanted to get back on the field," said Buckhalter.
While Buckhalter was activated from the Physically Unable To Perform list, the Eagles made another move, cutting newly acquired tackle Jeff Roehl. The Eagles had claimed Roehl off waivers just last Friday, but cut him loose when Buckhalter was activated.
