Game Day Preview: Eagles / Redskins

The first time these two teams met this season, the Eagles were at the top of their game. Donte Stallworth and Brian Westbrook had big games and they'll need a repeat to beat the Skins on their own turf.

SERIES: 146th meeting. Redskins lead the series, 75-64-6. The Eagles defeated the Redskins handily four weeks ago in Philadelphia, 27-3. Brian Westbrook rushed for 113 yards and wide receiver Donte Stallworth had six receptions for 139 yards in the romp.

'skins Skinny:

  • CB Kenny Wright (knee) returned Thursday after not practicing Wednesday and was upgraded to probable for Sunday's game with Philadelphia.
  • LB Khary Campbell (hamstring) practiced for a second consecutive day and is probable for Sunday.
  • SS Troy Vincent, who missed the past two games with a strained hamstring, practiced again and is probable.
  • OT Jon Jansen was held out again Thursday with an ailing calf but is still expected to start.
  • C Casey Rabach (shin) returned to practice Thursday and is expected to start.
  • TE Todd Yoder didn't practice this week because of a thigh injury but is still probable.
  • CB Shawn Springs, who missed the Atlanta game with a hamstring injury, practiced again and is expected to start.
  • WR David Patten, who missed the past eight games with hamstring and thigh injuries, practiced again and is expected to be available Sunday.
  • Notes From The ‘Nest:

  • DE Darren Howard (groin and knee) didn't practice Thursday and still is listed as questionable, but defensive coordinator Jim Johnson said he expected Howard to play.
  • LB Omar Gaither will make his second start at "WILL" Sunday against Washington in place of struggling Matt McCoy. McCoy has been bothered by a shoulder sprain.
  • CB Rod Hood practiced Thursday but still is listed as questionable for Sunday with a sore hamstring. He will try to play.
  • LB Shawn Barber, who has missed the past two games with a knee sprain, practiced Thursday and was upgraded to probable for Sunday's game. His absence in the team's nickel package has been felt.
  • RB Brian Westbrook hasn't had any major problems with his sore toe in practice and will play Sunday against Washington. Whether the Eagles will limit his touches remains to be seen.
