Eagles to Add Versatile Klecko

The Eagles reached an agreement on a contract with free agent Dan Klecko. Details on his new deal and how he might fit in with the team inside.

After coming to Philadelphia just two days ago for a tryout, Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reported today that free agent Dan Klecko has reached an agreement with the Eagles on a one-year contract.

The 5-foot-11, 271-pound Klecko played for the Indianapolis Colts last year. He is entering his sixth NFL season and has three Super Bowl rings (one with the Colts in 2006, two with New England from '03-'05).

Although he is listed as a defensive tackle, Klecko played fullback at times for both the Colts and Patriots. Klecko is best known for his touchdown reception with Indianapolis in the 2006 AFC championship game that helped rally the Colts to a win over the Patriots. The former Temple University star will most likely move to fullback full-time with Philadelphia.

The Eagle's starting fullback last year, Thomas Tapeh, signed with the Vikings as a free agent recently and the only other fullback on the roster is Jason Davis, who has yet to play in an NFL game.
