Will Roddy White play against Tampa Bay?

The Falcons desperately need Roddy White on the field Thursday night against Tampa Bay.

Both Atlanta and Tampa Bay will be dealing with injuries with the short turnaround for Thursday night’s game at the Georgia Dome.

The biggest worry for the Falcons is wide receiver Roddy White, who suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's game with the Bengals. The Falcons want White back at practice Wednesday to show he can be ready to go Thursday night. He did not practice Tuesday.

It does look like left tackle Jake Matthews will be back in the starting lineup Thursday after missing the game in Cincinnati. Matthews had an ankle injury in the second quarter of the season opener against the Saints. If Matthews is back, will the Falcons go with Lamar Holmes or Gabe Carimi at right tackle?

The Falcons had wide receiver Julio Jones (ankle) and linebacker Prince Shembo (knee) at full strength Tuesday in practice. Those are the only four players that were on the Falcons' official injury report.

Meanwhile, Tampa Bay had 11 players on their injury report. The Bucs' biggest worry is with defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who did not practice Tuesday. McCoy has a broken left hand. Tampa Bay has not totally ruled McCoy out of the game yet.

Linebacker Mason Foster is a question mark after missing Tuesday's practice with a shoulder problem. The Bucs are preparing Dane Fletcher to step in and start if Foster can't go. Tight End Austin Seferian-Jenkins also did not practice Tuesday due to an ankle problem.

Three members of Tampa Bay's offensive line are of concern, although starting tackle Demar Dotson (hamstring) was back at full participation Tuesday. Guard Logan Mankins (knee) and center Evan Dietrich-Smith (back) were limited in practice.
