Legendary Falcons fan Joe Curtis dies

Falcons fanatic Joe Curtis has died at the age of 96.

He saw every Falcons home game from the time they hit Atlanta through last season - all 376 of them. He also saw around 180 Falcons road games.

Joe Curtis might have been one of the best fans the Falcons have ever had. It was not until this season, with his health failing, that he could not make it to see his beloved NFL team.

Curtis died Tuesday at the age of 96.

He was also a fighter pilot in World War II. Curtis also served in the Korean War and in Vietnam.

Here is a story in Wednesday's Telegraph about a great life lived by a great man.

The Falcons will honor Colonel Joe during Sunday's game against the Browns.

Here is an interview with Joe Kovac, Jr., a reporter from the Telegraph who drove Curtis to the Falcons games for most of the last decade..
