Vic Beasley to work out for Falcons Monday

Vic Beasley could well be the Falcons choice for the number eight pick.

The Falcons will work out Clemson star defensive player Vic Beasley on Monday, according to numerous reports.

Beasley has been linked with the Falcons for weeks, as he should be available and on the board when the Falcons pick eighth in the first round on April 30.

The Falcons had a heavy contingent at Clemson's Pro Day on March 5, as Beasley weighed in at 246 pounds and was 6-foot-3. Beasley is a Georgia kid, born in Adairsville just northwest of Atlanta. He has said he grew up a Falcons fan.

Beasley had 13 sacks in his junior season for the Tigers and was a consensus All-American player. He could fill the Falcons' need for a pass rusher, although it will be interesting to see if the Falcons view Beasley as a lineman or linebacker.

In the latest mock draft, ESPN's Todd McShay has Atlanta taking Missouri lineman Shane Ray at number eight in the first round.
