Falcons sign fullback Collin Mooney

The Falcons added another offensive player for the coming season by signing a fullback.

The Falcons added a fullback on Monday with the signing of former Titans fullback Collin Mooney.

Mooney played with Tennessee in the 2012 and 2013 seasons. The Titans waived Mooney before the start of last season. In his 14 games between the other two seasons Mooney had five rushing attempts for 19 yards. He caught six passes in 2013 for 32 yards.

Mooney just turned 29 last month. He played at Army and was their single-season rushing record holder with 1,339 yards during his senior season. Mooney then fulfilled his commitment to the Army before resuming his football career.

The Falcons have not had a real fullback since Ovie Mughelli was released in 2011. Patrick DiMarco is also on the roster at the position. He made seven starts last season and played in all 16 games. DiMarco was mainly another option as a receiving, grabbing nine catches for 62 yards.
