Roddy White has minor surgery

The Falcons cannot afford to be without Roddy White.

The Falcons believe Roddy White will be ready for the season opener September 14, but the latest injury setback has to be a concern.

White had minor surgery Monday to remove debris from his right elbow. He was scratched from last Friday's game with the Jets, as his elbow started to bark at him a bit.

Head coach Dan Quinn did not admit any concern with White's latest injury issue. Quinn expects White back next week and fully believes his star receiver will be ready when the Eagles hit Atlanta next month.

The Falcons also will be without reserve offensive lineman Peter Konz, who will have surgery and miss two to three weeks. Konz was on the bubble for a roster spot before his injury.

The team does expect running backs Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman back at practice this week. Both have been sidelined with hamstring injuries.
