Falcons 2009 Preseason Schedule Announced

The NFL announced its 2009 preseason schedule on Monday, which includes a nationally televised game against the San Diego Chargers.

The Falcons will begin their preseason schedule by making their first trip to Ford Field in Detroit since 2006. All-time, the Falcons are 2-1 in the preseason against the Lions.

Week two of the preseason will also send the Falcons on the road, as they'll travel to St. Louis to face the Rams, whom they haven't played in the preseason since 1979.

In week three, the Falcons will host the San Diego Chargers in a game that will be broadcast nationally by CBS. It will be the sixth preseason meeting all-time between the Falcons and Chargers, with San Diego holding a 4-1 edge.

The final regular season tune-up will also be in the Georgia Dome, as the Falcons host the Baltimore Ravens. Atlanta has won three straight regular season games against the Ravens, including games in 2007 and 2008.
