Tennessee's Robert Ayers will visit Flowery Branch in the coming days reports Steuber while also scheduling visits to Cleveland and New England.
Ayers is a player who could play any number of positions along the defensive line with his size and quickness. At 276 pounds, Ayers could even play an under-tackle position in the right scheme.
There is some worry that Ayers is a one-hit wonder, having only started 14 games (all 12 in 2008) over the past three years. He isn't a great athlete, but because he showed outstanding quickness at Tennessee's Pro Day (a 7.07 in the three-cone drill) he's been steadily moving up draft boards ever since.
Ayers is projected as a mid-first round selection, but with so many ‘tweeners being considered at defensive end, he may slip a bit because his speed isn't up to the same level as the other players he's fighting with for a draft position.
Check back with FalconsInsider for more news on Ayers as well as more visitors that have been scheduled to visit Atlanta in the coming weeks.
