Steuber reports that Georgia Tech CB Jahi Word-Daniels is headed to Flowery Branch for a workout with the Falcons on Thursday August 16th.
Daniels is a talented player who saw his stock fall when he missed almost half of Tech's games in 2008. However, he did manage to post over 20 tackles and an interception in the seven games in which he made an appearance.
When healthy, Daniels is a big and physical corner who can play press coverage better than he plays in zones. He has good ball skills, but his lateral quickness isn't the best so he struggles at times with getting a good break on the ball.
At Georgia Tech's pro day Daniels had a solid day posting a 4.59 forty time and a 36-inch vertical.
Daniels is late-round prospect with early second-day talent if he didn't have the questions about his health and durability.
Look for the Falcons to contemplate his name late on Sunday if he's still available. With his ball skills and coverage abilities, Daniels could fit into the Atlanta secondary nicely as a nickel or dime corner.
Stay tuned for more updates on visits and keep checking FalconsInsider.com for the latest news.
