LS Bryan Pittman was signed by the Falcons after it was determined that Mike Schneck was going to miss the rest of the season with a rib injury.
Pittman was the long-snapper of the Houston Texans for six years (2003 - 2008) before signing with the Seattle Seahawks in May as a free agent. He was cut by Seattle during training camp and had been out of football up until signing with the Falcons today.
At one point in his career, Pittman recorded 598 consecutive successful snaps and in his seven year career he's made 14 tackles on special teams.
In other news, S Charlie Peprah was signed as Jamaal Fudge was placed in IR.
Fudge had only been with the Falcons for two weeks before being injured and played mainly on special teams during his short stint. He had been with the team during August but was cut before the regular season.
Entering his fourth year in the NFL, Peprah played three seasons with Green Bay before being released prior to the start of the 2009 regular season. He has played in 37 games with one start under his belt and he's recorded 27 tackles and two forced fumbles in his time in the league.
