Antrel Rolle's ankle 'ahead of schedule'

New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle shared an update on the sprained ankle he suffered last week at practice.

Injuries are plaguing the New York Giants depth chart given that center David Baas is sidelined one week with an MCL sprain and right tackle David Diehl is expected to miss six weeks with a torn right thumb, yet Big Blue received some good news on Antrel Rolle's recovery from an ankle sprain.

"Whenever I can go out there and feel like I'm not favoring it," said Rolle. "Right now we're ahead of schedule and things are going good."

Last week Rolle tweaked his ankle in a practice drill when he landed awkwardly on tight end Bear Pascoe's foot. Appearing in a walking boot last week, Rolle vowed to aggressively rehab and do everything in his power to get ready for the regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. Rolle is already walking on his own power and looks to have turned the corner in his rehab process.

"I think I made excellent progress and we're going to continue to keep pushing," said the Giants' safety about the injury. That's just the way I am."
