Giants not in control of playoff destiny

New York Giants cornerback told reporters this week that his team is 'definitely going to need help' to get into the postseason this year.

The Giants had a rough start to the season at 0-6 before being able to pull out two wins before the bye week, one against the Minnesota Vikings and one against Philadelphia Eagles. Even so, the Giants will need to secure another win against the Raiders this Sunday, as well as hope for their division rivals to lose in order to have any chance of getting to the playoffs.

"We're definitely going to need help," said Thomas of the Giants' playoff chances. "We've gotten this far even though we started off 0-6, we're on a run right now and that's all we're going to worry about, just one game at a time. Trying to get a win each week and we definitely can't lose any more division games."

Cornerback, Terrell Thomas notes it is odd to not have any real control over their playoffs destiny.

Fans of Big Blue are anticipating another win after the Oakland Raiders lost to the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday in a landslide of 49-20. Even so, Thomas says they are not a team to be underestimated.

"It makes them that more hungry," noted Thomas. "They lost a lot of close games. This has been the first blow out and they have a talented young team. We definitely have our work cut out for us. We're not underestimating them at all."

The Giants need to keeping up their winning streak if they have any hope of making it to the playoffs. Thomas noted that the Giants are going to need so help this week, stating.

"This team's best work has been when it's been that way, when their backs are against the wall, when they had to win one game at a time, or win out in some cases," noted Thomas. "We're excited to get back to work…we need a win. We're going to play our butts off and prepare for it."

Overall, the Giants are going to need to focus on winning and simply hope to get ahead of the rest of the division.

"We can't control what they do," said Thomas. "All we control is us. Hopefully we get some help down the road, but right now, we're focused on the Raiders."
