As Odell Beckham Jr.’s arrival to the show began last night he has caught an immense amount of attention as the newest star in New York. In a much anticipated Sunday Night showdown, Beckham Jr. posted a show stopping performance with 11 catches for 146 yards along with two touchdowns and multiple highlight reel plays. Check SportsCenter tonight and you’ll most likely find “OBJ” on the main ticker.
Just two months ago, both fans and analysts were calling his heart and determination into question, despite the fact that he was purely recovering from an injury. Skeptics believed that Beckham Jr. lacked the love for the game, and many critics were already doubting him. Well, just two months later and the OBJ show is up and running right in time for the Halloween season. Don’t look now but Beckham Jr. has quickly replaced the love that Victor Cruz had formerly received in New York, and his diva like presence on the field has been beloved by both his teammates and fans. Calculating the yardage he’s picked up over the last 4 games will blow your mind. With 125 yards a game in the past month, Beckham Jr. is a red hot Ferrari on the run as of late.
Doing this type of damage to the league as a rookie at the Wide Receiver position is groundbreaking. His rise to stardom is just on the horizon, and the future trio of Beckham Jr., Cruz, and Randle will provide Eli Manning with more weapons than he can even carry. Even archrival Dez Bryant had nothing but pleasing words about OBJ.
“The man’s a monster,” noted Bryant. “You have to give it to him. He’s one of those guys who loves to play the game. You can tell. He jumps around. He wants to be out there and make a play. That catch? Outstanding! I was like OOF! Some of my work!”
Outstanding to say the least, and soon OBJ looks to carry the torch for Wide Receivers in the NFC East. Don’t look back Dez, Beckham Jr. is right behind you.
