Giants TE safe after plane skids off runway

New York Giants tight end Larry Donnell was among 125 passengers on-board Delta Flight 1086 who were unharmed Thursday morning.

Delta Flight 1086 heading from Atlanta to New York's LaGuardia Airport slid off the runway and into an embankment in icy conditions on Thursday morning. There were no major injuries reported among the estimated 125 passengers and five crew members on-board. New York Giants tight end Larry Donnell was one of those passengers and he issued a statement to assure fans that he was unharmed during the incident.

“I’m blessed to be safe and sound after our plane skidded off the runway at LaGuardia airport today. I feel fine physically and hopefully all the other passengers did not have any significant injuries. We were all shocked and alarmed when the plane started to skid, but most importantly, as far as I know, all of the passengers and flight crew were able to exit the plane safely.”

Donnell was making the return trip to the Big Apple from Atlanta in order to sign his exclusive-rights contract with the Giants.
