It’s the start of baseball season, but the NFL is already back in fold for sports fans. The NFL Draft is less then three weeks away and this past week, all NFL teams released their 2015 preseason schedule.
The New York Giants announced this week that they will for the third consecutive year, that they will be playing against all AFC opponents this preseason.
These AFC teams are as followed in playing order, the Cincinnati Bengals (Aug 13th-17th), the Jacksonville Jaguars (Aug 20th-24th), the New York Jets (Aug 27th-30th) and lastly the defending Super Bowl champions the New England Patriots on September 3rd.
The Giants will play on the road against the Bengals and Patriots, while their home games will be against the Jaguars and Jets.
Dates and times of the game have not been set yet.
For the 47th straight year, the Giants and Jets will square off against each other in the preseason. The Giants won the meeting between the two teams last year, 35-24.
This will also be the 11th consecutive year that the G-Men will face the Patriots in the preseason. The Giants beat the defending champs last year in the preseason 16-13. This will be overall, the 25th preseason game for the Giants and Patriots. Giants lead the series 15-9.
The Giants will play both the Jets and Patriots again in the regular season. Last two times the Giants have played both the Jets and Patriots in the regular season, they have gone on to win the Super Bowl that same year.
Last year in the preseason, the Giants went a perfect 5-0. It was their first perfect preseason since they were 4-0 in 2006.
The Giants are 24-21 in 11 preseasons with Tom Coughlin as head coach.
