Jason Pierre-Paul posts a video bench pressing with his injured hand

Jason Pierre-Paul's latest video shows the injured defensive lineman lifting weights with his damaged hand.

Jason Pierre-Paul has taken to Instagram yet again, this time to post a video of himself bench pressing with his injured hand. The video shows the defensive end holding a towel between his damaged right hand and the bar to serve as a buffer.

Pierre-Paul appears to bench 235 pounds five times before returning the bar to the rack with the assistance of a spotter.

The workout video is a clear message to Giants fans that the two-time Pro Bowler means business and intends to make a comeback this season. Pierre-Paul and the Giants front office are at a standstill as his $14.81 million franchise tag has still not been signed.

Pierre-Paul wants to avoid landing on the non-football injury list in which case the Giants could withhold his salary for the games he misses.

It’s still unclear how close the former USF star is to returning, but Pierre-Paul is hoping that his weightlifting session brings him one step closer to passing his physical.  Pierre-Paul wants to avert a potentially ugly dispute with the Giants over whether he’s healthy enough to return to the field this season.
