Justin Pugh: No doubt I'm playing next week

Justin Pugh turned his ankle during the fourth quarter of Sunday night's win forcing him to leave the game, but the Giants offensive lineman vows to play next Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Justin Pugh going down with an ankle injury is one of the many concerns the New York Giants face going into their game against their archrival Eagles. Odell Beckham Jr and Reuben Randle both suffered injuries to an extent that the Giants training stuff doesn’t know about. The same can be said for Justin Pugh’s ankle, who has been an asset on the offensive line as of late.

“I’m playing next week. There is no doubt about that, noted Pugh.

I don’t think the big concern about Justin Pugh playing on Monday night is the concern but rather how effective he will be when playing.  The Eagles defense is strong against the rush as it ranks 10th the national football league. This can be attributed to their strong 3-4 defense that consists of Demeco Ryans and Jordan Hicks at the middle linebacker positions. This makes it all the more important for Pugh to be able to hit the second layer with his speed on run plays up the middle or else the Giants will have no consistency in the run game. The ankle injury may slow him down and be a major problem for Big Blue.
