Will Tye will start at tight end in Week 9

The Giants will turn to an undrafted rookie to start at tight end.

Will Tye isn’t a household name, but the Giants are running out of options at tight end. With Larry Donnell sidelined by an injured neck and Daniel Fells NFL career likely over after contracting a MRSA infection, Big Blue will turn to an undrafted rookie to make the start in Tampa Bay.

Tye played his collegiate ball at Stony Brook and has recorded 7 receptions for 60 yards in his limited time with the Giants.  New York also activated Jerome Cunningham off the practice squad to add depth to the position.

There is still no timetable for Donnell’s return to the team and the G-men are hoping that Tye can hold down the fort for the time being.
