Key Matchups:

Jets Defensive Line vs. Giants Offensive Line

It looks as though both center Weston Richburg and guard Justin Pugh are trying to be able to be out there on Sunday. Their presence would be very useful against a Jets front that has limited teams to fewer than 85 yards per game, which is best in the NFL. Combine this with the struggles that the Giants have had running the ball, and rushing the ball could be a tall task. It is crucial that they are able to run or the offense becomes very one-dimensional and predictable.

Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie vs. Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham jr.

It looks like a showdown between OBJ and Revis will have to wait for another time, as the shutdown corner is likely out of this game after suffering a head injury last weekend. OBJ will need to make some plays against the Jets defense to help off-set the likely issues running the football.

Jets wide receivers Eric Decker and Brandon Marshal vs. Giants cornerbacks Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Prince Amukamara

The Jets passing options fall of steeply after their top two receivers, Marshall and Decker. Those two have recorded 931 and 700 yards respectively, while the next two highest receiving yard totals belong to running backs Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell, both of whom have less than 200 yards receiving. If DRC and Amukamara can hold those two in check the Jets will have issues passing the football.

 Interesting Notes and Key Facts:

Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker account for 59.5% of the Jets receiving yards, and 17 of the teams 22 receiving touchdowns.

As mentioned above, the Jets defense is ranked 1st in the NFL against the run. The Giants are 28th in offensive rushing yards per game.

Eli Manning has only played the New York Giants twice in his career, winning both times.

Odell Beckham jr. has been heating up recently. He has totaled over 100 yards receiving each of the past four games. With Revis highly unlikely to play, that streak may very well continue.
