OBJ's Wild Antics Warrant a Suspension

No. 13 was out of control during his team's Week 15 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

It was supposed to be a marquee matchup between the NFL’s top flight wide receiver and league’s best shutdown cornerback, but things turned ugly in the Meadowlands between Odell Beckham Jr and Josh Norman.

The Panthers defensive star agitated Beckham throughout the game by jamming him at the line of scrimmage and battering him with hands to his face and hits under his facemask..

Norman was clearly getting under Beckham’s skin and the 23-year old let his emotions get the best of him and was flagged for three unnecessary roughness penalties. The second-year wideout from LSU launched himself at Norman and targeted the defensive back’s helmet, knocking his head back in a violent motion in the third quarter and was barking at the Panthers huddle following every play on that drive.

Beckham’s temper was out of control and his actions will likely draw a fine and possibly a suspension.

Yeah. Just told him, “Let’s get back to playing football. Play football and play the game," noted Manning about his top receiving targer's outburst. "Don’t get caught up in this.” I think he was able to dial back in and make some big plays for us."

The Pro Bowl’s leading vote-getter as a receiver, Beckham’s popularity is on a meteoric rise, but his inability to keep his composure has frustrated Giants fans and confounded the coaching staff.

Head coach Tom Coughlin told reporters following the 38-35 last second loss that he gave "serious consideration" to benching Beckham for his outburst. While the Giants long-time coach decided not to punish Beckham for flare up, expect the NFL to take a much different approach and levy fines and a potential one-game suspension for one of the league's most idolized players.
