Chris Mara Returns to Giants

The Giants announced Tuesday that Chris Mara has returned to New York's front office as the team's Vice President for Player Evaluation.

Chris Mara served as a scout for the Giants for 14 years, including the two Super Bowl Championship seasons of 1986 and 1990. He joined the Giants staff prior to the 1979 season and during the next 14 years served as a member of the club's player personnel department.

"Chris Mara belongs in the New York Giants organization," GM Ernie Accorsi said. "This is his home. I felt this for a long time, and I can't express how pleased I am that he has re-joined the Giants on a full-time basis.

Chris has paid his dues in player personnel. He started as a road scout, and there is no better preparation in this business than that. His expertise in player evaluation will only make us better. Chris' responsibilities will be primarily in pro personnel, but we will use his talents in other areas as well."
