Olivier Vernon just one among several Giants players who made their preseason debut against their former Dolphins’ teammates. The Giants have four other ex-Dolphins including Orleans Darkwa, Logan Thomas, John Jerry and Kelvin Sheppard.
As expected, Vernon put on a show. The 6-foot-2, 275 pound DE was a standout for the Giants and had an explosive presence in yesterday’s game. The Giants’ first team-defense did not give up any points or first downs as Vernon put some ample pressure on Tannehill.
“It just feels good with all the guys getting the blood flowing and running around. Making sure all the communication was right. That’s the biggest thing in game one in live action. The biggest thing is to make sure the communication was right and everything was flowing. So I’m just looking forward to next week,” Vernon said.
Fans were excited to see Vernon’s potential as a pass-rusher as he played alongside JPP, who is getting back into this natural element. The two should cause havoc this season and according to Vernon, JPP looked like his natural self after a long recovery process.
“Honestly, JPP is extremely athletic and a monster, so I wouldn’t expect anything less. Right now it’s keeping it flowing and can’t wait to be in Dallas,” Vernon said.
