The New York Giants head to Minnesota this week as the underdog in their week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Yet, they offer better fantasy options than the Vikings do. The Vikings were on the road last week and still managed to easily defeat the Carolina Panthers. In what should be more of a low-scoring game than the Giants and Vikings are accustomed to, offensive players on these two teams are losing fantasy value this week. With both rosters boasting a ton on individually talented players, it is a mystery as to which players will win their matchups and be fantasy stars, and as to which players will let their fantasy owners down.
Odell Beckham Jr.: Once again, Beckham Jr is a high-end WR1 this week. The Vikings have an overall talented secondary, but they lack one cornerback who can shut down elite receivers. Beckham Jr should see a mixture of Terrance Newman and Xavier Rhodes, both of whom are very solid cornerbacks. Either of those matchups heavily favors Beckham Jr. He must be in your fantasy lineup this week. Value: WR1
With the Vikings utilizing Newman and Rhodes as outside cover cornerbacks, Shepard is likely to have Captain Munnerlyn covering him. If Shepard keeps up the level of play he had shown thus far, he is in line for a huge performance this week. Value: WR2
After a slow start to the season, Rudolph has a good performance against the Panthers last week. He posted 70 yards, including a touchdown, against the Panthers elite defense. With the Giants being a team that struggles against tight ends, Rudolph is worth starting in fantasy lineups. Value: Low-end TE1
Even with the Giants’ premier wide receiving core, the Vikings defense is too good to leave on the bench. They were able to sack Cam Newton 8 times last week. The Giants, who have a below-average offensive line, are in big trouble this week against the Vikings incredible pass-rush. Value: D/ST1
Yes, Diggs has had a great start to the season boasting 325 yards and a touchdown. However, Janoris Jenkins has been what some may call a lockdown cornerback through 3 weeks. Diggs will have his moments against Jenkins, but overall, he will not continue the high-level play he has been this season, heavily decreasing his fantasy value.
Cruz is going to see a mixture of Newman and Rhodes as Cruz lines up opposite Beckham Jr. One of these cornerbacks will have an easy time against Cruz when the other cornerback struggles against Beckham Jr. Anyhow, Cruz has a tough task ahead of him. Leave him on your bench.
Tye and Donnell should never be starters in fantasy lineups. Both of their values are even worse this week as they are going against the Vikings great linebackers unit.
