Several Giants were honored for their exploits during the 2002 season at the annual Kickoff Luncheon at the Sheraton New York Hotel Wednesday afternoon.

Kerry Collins was named the team's Most Valuable Player, Tiki Barber was named Offensive Player of the Year, Shaun Williams was honored as the Defensive Player of the Year, Marcellus Rivers received the trophy for Special Teams Player of the Year, and, in a major surprise, Jeremy Shockey was named Rookie of the Year.

Chris Godfrey, a Giants guard from 1984-87 and the founder and President of Life Athletes, Inc., received the Giants Alumni Man of the Year Award.
