WR Amani Toomer, normally mild-mannered, had to be restrained as he repeatedly tried to get at Frank Walker during a heated fight in practice

WR Amani Toomer and rookie cornerback Frank Walker had a heated fight in practice. Toomer, normally mild-mannered, had to be restrained as he repeatedly tried to get at Walker.

"Frank really attacked him at the line," Fassel said. "I think it was over when they got unraveled, and then Frank shoved him. At that point I threw Frank out. Frank came up and apologized to me about that. I said, 'Don't do it in a game, (especially) as a rookie. It may be your last trip to the field.' I told Amani he was all right, that there was not going to be a penalty against him, but he wouldn't stop. He has to calm down at that point in time."

* Fassel was pleased with the performance of kicker Matt Bryant. "He kicked a 53-yarder," Fassel said. Last year, Bryant did not attempt a field goal longer than 47 yards. But Fassel said this year he would me more comfortable with letting Bryant try a longer kick.

"I've always been confident in his ability. He has a strong leg," Fassel said. "Last year, I wasn't real confident with it because of the snap and everything else. But he's got a leg strong enough to make that. The only thing that would change my mind with a field goal like that in a game would be weather conditions."

* Linebacker Nick Greisen and cornerback Ray Green missed practice with hamstring injuries. Both are listed as questionable.
