Q: So much has been made about this thumb injury. When did you first hurt your thumb and what is it - just a sprain?
A: It was first injured right before the half in Buffalo and it is a little bit more than a sprain. It's just a deeper bruise that obviously, you have to work through.
Q: So it's a bone bruise?
Q: How did it happen?
A: Going for a pass attempt and either hit a helmet or hit someone's hand as they were trying to block the pass and jammed two more of my fingers with it.
Q: Exactly how does that hamper you? Is it more the grip of the football?
A: It's more of the grip of the football.
Q: Can you describe what it has been like so far through five weeks and the difficulties both you and your team are having?
A: Well, we are 2 and 3. We could have possibly been 3 and 2 but with everything that has been going on everyone has pretty much had their eye on us because a lot of people obviously had us going to the Super Bowl. The season is not over but everyone is pretty much trying to find out why, what is the problem. The way that we look at it is obviously just whatever happened last week - it's over - just focus in on whatever we have to do to come out and be successful in the up and coming weeks and just try to block out everything that has been said.
Q: What do you think the problems you are having personally are - completing less than 50% and low quarterback rating - what is going on with you this year?
A: It is a mix of everything. People gameplan to obviously to try to stop the things that we do and with injuries and everything that has happened so far, and yes, as you said, the whole accuracy deal stands out, but just as a unit, we haven't been able to put things together like we did early on last year. This thing is long and it is a 16-week season. We know things are going to get better. Everyone has the confidence and if you have that right now, that is what is important.
Q: Some of the Giants on Monday said they still think the season is going to come down to the Giants and Eagles. Do you think that is a realistic feeling and how important does that make this game?
A: That is the way it has been the past couple of years. Pretty much, it has been the same guys on both sides. Obviously a couple of years ago everything had to go through New York and that is the way it has been. Now everything has to go through Philly still. We are the predominant teams as people look at it. We want to continue to look at it as such and in doing that, making sure we collect a win.
