Friday Practice Notes

Offensive linemen Luke Petitgout and Wayne Lucier returned to practice. Petitgout has a sore arm and foot, and Lucier has been battling flu-like symptoms all week. He had a 103-degree fever last Saturday but played Sunday in Minnesota.

"I think that's as high as I've ever gone temperature-wise," Lucier said. "I was talking to my parents, and we can't ever remember a time when I was sick during the football season. But I feel good now."

* Neither defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin nor cornerback Kato Serwanga practiced because of ankle injuries, but Fassel did not declare them out of the game.

"(Griffin) said, 'Don't rule me out, I think I might be able to make it,' " Fassel said. "I told him that he's a workout guy before the game."

Griffin will have to prove to Fassel prior to the game that his ankle is strong enough for him to play.

Fassel said of Serwanga, "I think he'll be ready."
