Collins won the award for his performance at Minnesota (23 completions in 39 attempts for 375 yards and two touchdowns) and his Week 3 outing in Washington (24 completions in 39 attempts for 276 yard and three scores).

The other nominees are New England's Tom Brady, Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb and San Francisco's Tim Rattay.

Fans can vote for one player on until noon on Thursday to determine the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week. The winner will be announced Thursday on and Friday in USA Today.

* Will Allen's block of Doug Brien's field goal attempt in overtime last week has been nominated as the NFL Play of the Week, presented by Levitra. After Brett Conway had already missed a potential game-winning 39-yard field goal in overtime, Allen, the third-year cornerback, bolted past the right side of the Jets line to block Brien's potential game-winning 51-yard field goal attempt. The Giants then marched down the field and won the game on Conway's 29-yard field goal.

The other Play of the Week nominees are Houston tight end Billy Miller's one-handed 20-yard touchdown reception, San Francisco receiver Tai Streets' one-handed five-yard touchdown catch, New Orleans' cornerback Ashley Ambrose's 71-yard interception return for a touchdown, and Indianapolis' Dwight Freeney's game-clinching sack and forced fumble against Miami's Brian Griese.
