Fassel attempts to ease frustration against Reid

"Hey, the one thing - you can take all the records of the games beforehand and you can toss them out the window."-Eagles head coach Andy Reid

Q&A with Eagles Coach Andy Reid

Q: What do you make of Brian Mitchell's difficulty getting on track with the returns?

A: I know Brian Mitchell is very explosive, I do know that. At any time Brian Mitchell can pop a big one on you. That guy, I have so much respect for him and the job that he did, not only here, but what he has done over his career. I don't know about slumps or anything else, I just know that I am always very concerned when he is back there returning the football against us.

Q: What do you think of the explanation he has given about short punts/unreturnable punts?

A: I know this, from a coach's standpoint - you would like to keep that ball as far away from him as you possibly can so that he can't hurt you. Those things do happen in this league and that is a tough thing. But I know from a coach's standpoint, if you can keep the ball away from him, I am a happy guy.

Q: Which Giants team are you preparing for - the one who lost to the Falcons last week or the one you have faced in the past?

A: Hey, the one thing - you can take all the records of the games beforehand and you can toss them out the window. Man, these are knockdown drag-out, brawls. I learned that my first year in this thing. That is what I am preparing for.

Q: How is the health of your team - is it getting a lot better?

A: Well we are slowly healing up. That has taken a little bit of time, but we are ready to get - (Brian) Dawkins is out there practicing today; he probably won't be full speed, but at least he'll have an opportunity to test that thing. Bobby Taylor - he'll test his foot. We'll just see, we'll see how guys go, that is a positive thing - are they all the way back? I can't tell you that.
