Injury Update

The Giants' injury report lists six players, all doubtful: Kerry Collins, Ike Hilliard, Jeremy Shockey (knee), Tim Carter (concussion), Luke Petitgout (back) and Marceullus Rivers (knee).

Jim Fassel said Collins is feeling better. An MRI confirmed that Collins has a moderate high ankle sprain.

"The doctor says he doesn't think he will make it this week, but we have a very good shot at next week (at Dallas)," Fassel said.

Shockey practiced, but it appears he will miss his fifth consecutive game.

"He felt alright, didn't feel real good, felt alright," Fassel said. "We'll have to see there. He wants to play."

Petitgout again stayed inside when the team practiced.

"He's better, but we're moving at a glacier pace," Fassel said.

Hilliard did not practice. Rivers will get a knee brace tomorrow which should enable him to practice tomorrow. "He thinks he can play," Fassel said.

Tests on Carter did not reveal that he had suffered his third concussion in four weeks, but Fassel said the receiver is exhibiting concussion-like symptoms.

"We have to treat him like he has a concussion," Fassel said. "He still has a little headache. I wanted him to go inside today."
