Big Blue's top five players in order of value are Ole Miss QB Eli Manning, Iowa OT Robert Gallery, Miami of Ohio QB Ben Roethlisberger, Miami S Sean Taylor and Miami TE Kellen Winslow. If the Giants sit tight at number four, and the draft unfolds as expected, they could have their choice of Roethlisberger and Taylor. If that's the case, then Roethlisberger, as TGI has been reporting for several weeks, would be the choice.
While the club would obviously love to land either of the top two on its wish list, the Giants seem unwilling to pay a steep price to move up in the first round.
One name that wasn't on New York's top five was Pitt WR Larry Fitzgerald, who was almost unanimously pegged to be one of the first five players taken. The knock on Fitzgerald is that he's a bit slow coming out of his breaks, which could cause difficulty for him getting open on the NFL level.
The biggest surprise among New York's value board, however, is that the Giants have Michigan RB Chris Perry ranked among their top 10. Many believe Perry will be selected toward the end of the first round, but the Giants, who love Big Ten running backs, believe Perry is much more valuable than most so-called draft experts do.
