A Close Look at Sean Taylor

The people's choice, and likely the best defensive player in the draft, is Miami super safety Sean Taylor. If the two QBs – Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger – and man-mountain Robert Gallery is gone, look for New York to break the hearts of those in Washington and Cleveland and take Taylor, who can play either safety spot.

He's big enough (6-2, 228) and tough enough to man the strong safety spot, but also quick and crafty enough to play the off position. He also picked off an amazing 10 passes last year and is blessed with the speed and quickness of a cornerback. That speed plus size resulted in several bone-jarring, highlight-film hits.

From the Devil's advocate department, Taylor's arrogant attitude didn't always rub his Hurricane teammates the right way; a mildly alarming fact considering the rep Miami football players have. With a score of 10, Taylor didn't exactly blow the Wonderlic test out of the water either.

With the Giants looking for instant impact from this draft, Taylor might be the way to go.
