Gibril Wilson

In the fifth round, New York looked to upgrade its secondary with the selection of Tennessee safety Gibril Wilson. He started 20 of 26 games for the Volunteers, recording 196 tackles, 5.5 sacks and three interceptions.

Prior to enrolling at Tennessee, the hard-hitting Wilson recorded 135 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 5 INTs at the City College of San Francisco.

The 6-0, 197-pounder's best moment came last season when he picked off a pass with 4:42 to play in the shadow of his own goal line to seal a 10-6 victory over Miami. Wilson has the speed and range to cover the field, but is said to have questionable hands. He's known as a hard worker with a solid work ethic that will do whatever it takes to improve.

In addition to competing with Ryan Clark and Clarence LeBlanc for a reserve safety spot, he's also going to be relied upon to help the club's special teams.
