Giants ink TE
The Giants have signed free agent TE Joe Dean Davenport. The 6-6, 268-pound tight end out of Arkansas was originally signed as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2001 by the Indianapolis Colts where he spent the past three seasons. Davenport started in nine of 26 games and recorded 11 career catches for 93 yards. Last season he started two of 16 games for the Colts and recorded three catches for 23 yards. Davenport was a four-year starter for the Razorbacks where he had 49 career receptions for 554 yards and six touchdowns. He attended Springdale (Ark.) High School, where he was all-state in football and basketball as a senior. Davenport was born on October 29, 1976 and resides in Tontitown, Ark.
