Q: Is it hard to evaluate the Giants with their new system, new coach and new roster?
A: Not necessarily. All those guys played in the preseason and then you bank on what the coaches have done before; I think they'll probably do the same thing. They have a heck of a coaching staff, I know that.
Q: Have you studied what Tom Coughlin and Tim Lewis have done in the past?
A: Yes, we do.
Q: Is it going to be weird seeing Carlos Emmons in a Giant uniform?
A: Well, Carlos was one of my favorite guys. He did so much for this organization and program here, so I'll always be grateful to him and it will be really unique seeing him in that uniform, but I know he is going to do a great job this season.
Q: What was the thinking on him in terms of not going harder to keep Emmons?
A: It's one of those decisions that you end up making and that's how it works.
Q: We were talking to Terrell a few minutes ago and he seems to have calmed down his persona a little bit. Have you guys had any conversations with him about that?
A: I want T.O. to be T.O. He likes to play the game, he gets fired up to play the game and he is a competitor, an unbelievable competitor, so I don't want him to change that.
Q: Is he the missing part to your offense?
A: I've said this before; I always start with the offensive and defensive line. Nobody can function without that offensive line and they have to play well and then other people have to play well, and T.O. is one of those guys.
Q: Even though it's your style regardless, do you think that the Giants might be particularly vulnerable to your aggressive defense because their offensive line isn't quite settled yet?
A: I don't know. Their offensive line has been getting beat up a little bit by the media. I think they do a pretty good job. I mean they had a good preseason and I think those guys have a lot of pride and they're going to be okay this year.
