Barrett Green, who also missed practice yesterday, returned to work today. Green is listed as probable for the Redskins game. Nick Greisen, who missed last week's game with an ankle injury, practiced and is listed as questionable.
Green and Greisen both play weakside linebacker. Both have started this season. What happens if they are both healthy?
"I don't know how that's going to go," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "We'll see how that goes. Barrett was a little bit limited yesterday; he experienced some soreness from the game. We'll have to wait and see how that plays out."
* Center Shaun O'Hara, who has missed four of the last five games, first with a leg infection and then with an ankle injury, has returned to the starting lineup. Coughlin said O'Hara's presence boosts the entire line.
"It's very important," Coughlin said. "He's a very fiery, competitive guy who has kind of grown at the center position and been able to give us some solid production when he has been in there. I said a lot about how Wayne Lucier had stepped up when Shaun has not been in there. But Shaun definitely is the starter at that spot, rightfully so, and we miss not having him in there."
* The Giants signed defensive tackle Damane Duckett off the Carolina Panthers practice squad and placed defensive end Lorenzo Bromell on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Duckett, 6-6 and 311 pounds, made the Panthers roster as a rookie free agent this year. He played in two games, suited up for another but did not play and was inactive for four games. He was waived on November 4 and signed to the practice squad two days later.
At East Carolina, Duckett started 22 of 24 games his final two seasons, and finished his career with 134 tackles and four sacks.
"He has to contribute," Coughlin said. "Exactly where we stand on Sunday we'll look at. He's already a day late in terms of this week, but certainly will help us down the road."
Bromell, who as signed as a free agent on April 5, played in just two games, at Arizona on Nov. 14 and against Atlanta the following week. He spent the first half of the season on the physically unable to perform list while recovering from June knee surgery. Bromell was inactive last week.
