Monday Team Report

Tom Coughlin held a conference call with Giants reporters as the club finished its offseason program and embarked on a six-week break before the start of training camp in late July. The Giants will report to Albany on Friday, July 29 and have their first workouts on Saturday, July 30. Here are some of the highlights from Coughlin?s meeting with the media.

Coughlin mentioned several players among those that have stood out in a positive way this offseason. They include:

Rich Seubert ? Coughlin was impressed by Seubert?s practice efforts and performances coming off a broken leg suffered close to two years ago. He said he loves Seubert?s personality and his competitive nature in all phases of the game. Coughlin added that with a strong preseason Seubert could definitely be in the mix on the offensive line.

Curtis Deloatch ? Mentioned that the young corner had a very strong offseason.

David Tyree and Willie Ponder ? Coughlin stated that both continued to improve and had very strong springs.

Antonio Pierce ? His offseason, according to Coughlin, was very encouraging.

Carlos Emmons ? Coughlin was thrilled to see Emmons running around the practice fields pain-free, unlike last year.

Jay Feely ? Coughlin said his addition has helped out the kickoff coverage unit and that the distance of Feely?s kickoffs has been recognizable.

Visanthe Shiancoe ? Had an outstanding spring, and did a fine job in the weight room. According to Coughlin, Shiancoe was one of the first in and last to leave on most days.

Reggie Torbor ? Coughlin said that the second-year backer really benefited from the offseason program, and that his improved flexibility and athleticism were prominent for all to see.

Will Allen ? Worked hard on his body this offseason, and was in excellent shape.

Brent Alexander ? Works his tail off.
