On the Giants injury front, Tom Coughlin had an update on these players:
Shaun Williams ? Versatile football player that responded well and practiced full out all spring.
Barrett Green ? Coming back from double surgery, hopefully will be able to work once a day once camp opens.
Jamaar Taylor ? Should be ready to go by camp; nice to see him back.
Derrick Ward ? Will be ready to go once camp opens after a knee scope. Coughlin said Ward wants to be a football player.
Gibril Wilson ? Worked all spring, improved his strength and is fine.
Tim Carter ? He took just about every practice day and strengthened his hamstring.
Going forward, Coughlin stated that he told his troops that he wants them to continue to embrace the team concept. ?I want them to talk more about us and less about I,? he said. ?I would like to see our football team turn (the answer to) every question (from the media) from an I to a we.?
Finally, Coughlin said that his initial plan to utilize the club?s two talented split ends was to have Plaxico Burress serve as the flanker (X) spot and leave Amani Toomer as the split end (Z).
