Draft needs

With the Giants' relative inactivity in the free agent market, the front office is spending most of its time preparing for the upcoming draft.

New York will select either 14th or 15th in the first round, pending a coin toss with Tennessee. According to team sources, the club is expected to go after either an offensive tackle, linebacker or safety.

Due to the recent releases of LT Lomas Brown, LB Jessie Armstead and S Sam Garnes, New York has huge openings at all three spots.

Other obvious draft needs are a speed receiver and probably another offensive lineman. And while the Giants may gamble later in the draft on a tight end, they most likely will not select a TE in the first round or so.

Also, Giants GM Ernie Accorsi will meet with Marvin Demoff, the representative for free agent safety Shaun Williams, early next week at the NFL meetings in Orlando, FL.
