Mike Rosenthal, the backup offensive lineman was recently inducted into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in Commack, New York.

He was the Giants fifth round selection in 1999 out of Notre Dame.

Michael Eisen of Giants.com reports that Rosenthal was one of 11 new members inducted on Sunday.

Eisen quoted Rosenthal as saying "It's a great honor for me. I actually believe Jewish kids need sports heroes to look up to. There are so few of them and it gives those kids someone to look up to. To be honest, I don't think athletics is emphasized in a lot of Jewish households."
